Eva Villalobos is Supported by Republicans

Say NEVA to EVA Villalobos

Eva Villalobos is Backed by for-profit interests

Eva Villalobos has aligned herself with for-profit interests that put their own financial gains above the well-being of our students and schools, even if that means closing schools without notice. By relying on the support of entities driven by profits over public service, Eva risks turning our public schools into business ventures where students come second. Our community deserves a candidate who prioritizes students, teachers, and families—not special interests.

“Pro-charter school PACs have spent about $2.7 million on advertising supporting or opposing specific candidates.”

Eva is Endorsed by the Chicago Republican Party

Eva has secured the endorsement of the Chicago Republican Party at a time when extreme agendas are driving that platform, particularly around issues that threaten public education. With Republican-led efforts increasingly targeting public institutions across the country, her support from this party shows a troubling alignment that doesn’t reflect the values of our district or our students’ needs.

Eva works for Charter-Crook Juan Rangel

Eva Villalobos’ campaign is bolstered by Juan Rangel, a known charter fraudster who was forced to pay an undisclosed sum of money to avoid jail time due to his a history of mismanagement and controversial dealings that led to significant setbacks for Chicago’s public schools. Rangel’s influence raises serious questions about Eva’s priorities and her intentions for our school district. We need leaders who will work to rebuild and strengthen our schools, not turn them over to figures with questionable records in education.

Eva is Bankrolled by Out-of-State Billionaires and Republican Donors

Eva’s campaign is heavily supported by billionaires—many of whom are significant contributors to Republican political causes and agendas. With substantial financial backing from out-of-state interests, Eva is answerable not to our community but to a handful of wealthy, distant donors. Our public schools should serve the students and families of Chicago, not the interests of billionaires seeking influence from afar.

Eva has received nearly $300,000 in expenses from Super PACs since September 2024.

Eva Has No Real Plan for Desperate Parents

Eva Villalobos presents no real plan or experience to serve effectively on the Chicago Board of Education. Her lack of a coherent vision shows that she is unprepared for the challenges this role demands. At a time when Chicago Public Schools need strong, experienced leaders with clear strategies for improvement, Eva’s vague ideas and lack of educational experience will leave our district without the guidance it deserves.

Eva is Committed to Privatizing Our Schools Through “Project 2025”

Eva has openly embraced “Project 2025,” a vision designed to privatize public schools and move them under the control of private entities. This project aims to dismantle the public school system as we know it, putting corporate interests ahead of Chicago’s children. Our district deserves a representative who will champion public education, not one who supports a project with the goal of weakening it.

“Villalobos is endorsed by or has financial support from a pro-charter school group and more conservative groups backed by wealthy donors. Two organizations, a pro-charter school super PAC and another super PAC”
“Jim Walton, billionaire heir to the Walmart family fortune, contributed $400,000 to the super PAC. He gave the group $350,000 earlier in the year and has handed over $2.3 million since 2016.”
Chicago school board elections see big ‘school choice’ cash donations, including from billionaires. The coffers of two business-backed groups represent, by far, the biggest expected infusion of money supporting and opposing candidates in Chicago’s first-ever school board elections.
